This week whilst thrifting I found these lovely Wooden Russian Dolls at my local charity shop. I have inherited a 'thing' for Russian dolls recently and I could not believe my eyes when I spied these this week. They were £1.99.
They look so cute lined up and I love the detail painted on there little faces!
I thought initially I would give them to my little girl, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. So I have them sitting quite nicely on the piano in our sewing/dining room.
I also found this 1970's Enid Blyton children's book for 60p, the illustrations shown in the book are timeless and so magical, they do take you away to a time far ago.
Finally some readers will notice from my earlier post , this Dolls pram which was brought for my little girls birthday for a bargain price of £3.99. She really loves playing with it!

ReplyDeleteThose are lovely purchases. Especially like the Russian Dolls xx
ReplyDeleteLove the Russian Dolls. My uncle (a magical tap-dancing gay alcoholic man) bought me some years ago and I loved them to bits. Saw a collection at a car boot years ago (hundreds of them and she wanted to sell them all for not much money but was a lot at the time to me) and have always regretted not getting them.
ReplyDeleteLove Enid Blyton stories for their predictability of what to expect (ie no real violence, no gaming machines etc)
My finds this week are all on one theme at http://gigglingatitall.blogspot.com

Great Russian dolls! And I thought Id seen all Enid Blytons books but have never heard of that one!
Thrifting has been a way of life for me for the past 30 odd years - I love vintage things and I have rummaged at Jumble sales and bought second hand fabrics, clothes, furniture and accesssories for as long as I can remember!
For the last few years Ive been making cushions and accessories from vintage and recycled fabrics.
Have a great weekend!
